A nice gentleman and hotel clerk in Keystone South Dakota has informed me that a piece of information in my Ghost Towns and Other Historical Sites of the Black Hills book about Bear Gulch is incorrect.
He tells me the population is not zero but instead is 1! The person is his aunt and she still pans for gold in the general area.
He might even arrange a visit and interview for me - that would be GREAT!
