Just got this photo from Vickie Scott at The Virginian Hotel.
The hotel is in 2 of my 6 books. This is a photo of one of
two of their ghosts. His name is Riley, a cowboy who worked at the hotel. Apparently he liked his job so well he never left.
Vickie says he likes the bar! The other ghost is Hank,
a customer who checked in and never checked out.
The Virginian Hotel is off the beaten path but is worth
the stay. Full bar and restaurant and it's in a ghost town ....

As you know, I have been writing about times gone by, left behind.
Places where men, women and children struggled to make a better life out in the new land.
Some found gold and silver, some found the land itself and others found nothing but a life of strife.
No matter what they found, they formed the history of this United States and for that I thank them!
But time marches on... these people are now gone.
What remains is the shells of how they lived until man or nature takes even that away.
But the stories and memories will forever be told to bring this past back to us.
Hopefully my books have brought to mind what our past was and hope that while in your travels you will take a look around
and remember that not everything remains the same forever.... Remember, take only pictures and leave only footprints!
